Are you using your business card effectively?

Quick take a look at your business csrd.

Is it BLANK on the back side? So many of us are wasting valuable marketing space by not promoting your skills, services and business as effectively as you can!

Remember while a potential client is looking at your card, you have a CAPTIVE audience. So make use of every moment.

Your card should tell them “Who” you are, “What” you have to offer, “Where” you are located, “Why” you are the right person (by listing 1 FEATURE and 3 BENEFITS for each feature) “When” you can be used most effectively!

You should ALWAYS BE MARKETING YOURSELF!

The MESSAGE on your answering machine.

Any flyers that you distribute.

Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook,  and other relevant social media.

Always keep your content fresh, and continually collect and display new testimonials about your services.

It’s’ one thing to talk about yourself…but it is dynamic…when someone talks about you!

Collect testimonials, and yes even ask for them. And if they forget, you can write one up…contact them and see if it is ok with them to print what you wrote. 99% of the time they will say GREAT..go ahead. They mean to write you one, but they simply get busy again.

Besides, who else can market you……LIKE YOU CAN!

Strong Incentives….Delivers Powerful Results!

Think you can’t…think you can? Either way you are right!

Think negatively….and those are the exact result you will get!

Think positively…..and those are the exact results you will get!

Yet we keep falling back into our “failure habits” whenever we get that infamous “no” or possibly “no thank you.” And believe it or not they are BOTH a complete sentence!

But boy oh boy can they cripple our attitude.

Being rejected affects our subconscious powerfully. It is the nature of us anyway to avoid pain and seek pleasure . Now that means dealing with the rejection of a potential client or with an acceptance of a new client.

The pain or the pleasure will be there,

But how do YOU deal with it?

With every “NO” it statistically means you are that much closer to a yes. But that is the attitude of a positive and focused driven person.  Easier said than done.

I encourage you to read one of the many books written by Brian Tracy. This one is called “Eat That Frog!”

The gist of the book is that you should have a daily goal that is results oriented. But you should put that on your list…..doing the worst thing first! That is why he calls it “Eat that frog!”  And to up the actions even more, Tracy says….if you have several lousy things to do……”eat the ugliest frog first!”

Basically he is saying. “Do the worst thing first, and get it over with.” Now that applies to making sales calls;  or doing your exercise workout;   or paying bills;  or doing a lousy task you have simply been avoiding.

Once you get into this format of setting up a daily goal list for yourself and actually putting  it into ACTION,…. then results are what you will get!

But here comes the caveat. Thinking like a positive person, anticipating a positive result, a positive action…..that is what will happen.

And thinking like a negative person, fearful, regretful of the “what – if’s”, the maybe they won’t like me….will come to fruition too. This has been proven over the years, even in a scientific format.

Think you can,,,,think you can’t, either way you are right. This sentence was spoken by the famous Henry Ford.

And look where it got him!

As a business strategist, who has worked with the power of the mind concepts for over 25 years….I know first hand what people are truly capable of doing!

Failure Simply Hurts & Winning Is Awesome!

Walt Disney was a failure and needed psychological counseling more than once. Thomas Edison failed more times than he succeeded….as did Harlan Sanders (Kentucky Fried Chicken fame). They have been told “no” “we don’t want it”, “go away”, “your’e nuts”, “you are  too expensive”, “it won’t work”…..and the list of rejection statements go on and on!

Let’s fact it…..rejection hurts! Whether you are rejected by a client, friend, boyfriend, or girlfriend….it simply hurts.

As you know with my background in psychology I always tell my audiences and my students that the “brain is constantly avoiding pain and always seeking pleasure.”  This is an ongoing process in our conscious state….almost as if we are on a see-saw…a balancing act of life.

So how do you address this?      Image

Well, it takes awhile to “bounce back” and get back into a realm of feeling “safe.” Literally, like I said this becomes a balancing act. But you can bring back “up” the positive feelings and associations, when you have won,…when it did go your way. But YOU have to focus on that.

The power of your mind is capable of bringing you back into a high level of positive concentration. If we succumbed to all of the rejections we face in our life, we would all be walking around with our head hanging low! Think of all of the athletes that experience win or loss every game that they engage in. They unfortunately have a 50% change of failure….which is pretty high! But they leave the field, the court or the stadium with an attitude of yes we won,…. or “damn it” loss again.

So what are your next steps when actions have gone wrong? Well, write down your angst regarding this loss or rejection that you just went thru. Writing is like a catharsis for the brain. It is like a “mental enema” that helps you release the disappointment. If not,… you keep on emotionally building up the “bruises.” We become a broken record club that keep on tallying up the “no’s” that we have collected. Choose to start this  revamped way of thinking, instead of being a broken record club.

Write and release…seriously, write and release. Then write and focus on your next goal, your new goal. This might only take 2 minutes, but it works for the subconscious. It works powerfully. Write it down and put it in an easy place to read. And read it again. Because the rejection will come again, and you can choose to take control of balancing it out.

Minimize the emotional bruises. Stay in control. Stay focused. Stay positive. Stay profitable.

You are worth it!

Speak with clarity, credibility and confidence every time!

“But I don’t want to give a speech!”…or in your mind you will say…..”Oh good grief, I hate doing this….can’t somebody else do this instead of me?

How often have you turned down the opportunity to make a presentation, simply because of fear, or the thought of rejection because you simply did not want to stand up infront up a group of people and talk?

Well, this IS costing you money! In fact you are leaving money on the table, every time this fear takes control of you. The irony is that you DO KNOW YOUR TOPIC! You understand your business and your services….and most certainly you can talk about it to so many people….as long as you are NOT standing in front of someone!

This is a lost marketing opportunity….and it is time to change that! I am inviting you to listen to the recording I just did for Powerful You with Sue Urda and it will be played on February 21st. I believe it will be on at 1pm, but just double check at what time zone it will be in for you!

Join me for this incredible, content rich recording and listen and learn….and walk away with techniques that can truly make a difference for you and your business today.
It will be worth your time….and your confidence and your powerful presentation skills!

“See you” on the call!

Are you busy and productive…or just busy?

Fail to plan….than plan to fail! How many of us are guilty of that activity?

I know I certainly am…..but the more I walk my talk, the more productive and profitable I become. And the same is true for you!

Have a plan and stick to it! Make it concrete and don’t let it settle into routine that does not generate results. Think about when you look at a beehive. Each bee has a specific job and they do not change from it.

When their task is finished, either they are removed from the hive, or killed off by fellow bee’s. Now we know that it is not that ruthless in the real world, but sometimes it gets pretty similar. Don’t be your own worst enemy, and get in your own way!
Set up a 60 day business plan and make it concise! Pick 10 companies or individuals that you believe would benefit from your services. Focus on them and only them. Send out content rich material that will make a difference for them professionally and personally. Follow up with a brief phone call or concise emails.
This will develop credibility and make you more marketable.
Know each day what tasks you need and want to achieve. Check it off in front of your eyes and let it be easily seen. As I tell my clients and students….”The brain thinks in pictures”….and it does. Use visualization skills that will keep you “rockin’ rollin” and will you see your client list grow and your bottom line!
Now get busy!!!

Cross Channel Marketing – Hey this really works!

I’ve come across another technique to grow your business. Yeah, I know you are thinking, “Oh c’mon Eileen, if I read or hear or see another….well, forget it!

Hey I only have 24 hours just like you do, but we have GOT to make those work for our personal and professional life. I know that Social Media Marketing is the buzz word for the last year, but now it has become a reality to incorporate CURRENT STRATEGIES with OLD STRATEGY with NEW UPCOMING STRATEGY. That is Cross Channel Marketing. I was just “blown away” by this incredible guy called
Mike Koenigs Social Media Marketing Machines.
First off,he probably has one of the best online videos going! Great graphics and great, absolutely great information. Enjoy it and learn….simply learn from this guy. He is worth it.
I know I have talked about Ed Peters and his Post Card Mailings techniques…and that too works. But this genius uses all 3 techniques to generate significant results.
His objective is to generate 500 new millionaires in the next 5 years.
Now thats a pretty cool goal. And using this technique, I think he will achieve it.
Check out his site…..in between decorations, wrapping and frenzied existence…but do it. Just simply check out his cross channel MoJo Marketing!
I think the title tells it all. Give yourself the gift….your worth it!!

Do you love what you do for a living?

Y’know it gets harder and harder to seem to enjoy what we are doing on a regular basis. Either it burns us out and we get bored and look for something different.
I am finding that more true with so many students that I have met. I don’t know if they are looking for the perfect position or they have set their standards too high.
Compromise is a powerful word….and it works.
Find something that intrigues you and begin to experiment with the idea. Google as much as you can, and talk to other people in the field.
Get the book “What color is my parachute? 2012″ and actually go thru it. Find out what intrigues you and holds your attention.
When I read that people between the age of 21 -30 might go thru 8 jobs….just in that short span of time! What are they really looking for?
I have heard that HR departments are stunned by the way these young people can’t stay focused for long term responsibilities.
I would be curious what your attitudes are about this dilema?
Maybe all of our “ripples” of conversation can begin to make a difference.
